Bethany’s congregation is deeply rooted in the awareness of God’s abundant and endless grace for all. We are not doctrinal and there is no list of beliefs to hold or not hold. But, we are thoughtful about our faith, and we strive to be followers of Jesus. This means we sometimes disagree with organized religion or hand-me-down faith. We seek to understand and more deeply commit ourselves to the love of God, the love of neighbor and the love of self.

Bethany provides a team of volunteers to help sort and prepare food resources for delivery to the Food Bank’s distribution points. It’s fun and allows us to show love for our neighbor. We also bring canned food each week to fill our barrel for the Food Bank. To sign up for our next weekend at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, contact Steve at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We support the San Francisco Interfaith Winter Shelter program, an overnight shelter program during winter for homeless men. We prepare and serve dinner for 120 on three separate nights. We then join the men and enjoy fellowship during dinner. In the fall we participate in the Interfaith Winter Shelter Walk, collecting pledges and walking with friends around Lake Merced and we have the T-shirts to prove it.
Every other month, we prepare and and serve 150 bagged lunches to the participants of the San Francisco Night Ministry’s Sunday afternoon Open Cathedral worship service on the street.
Not your average handbell choir, Bell Appeal is a community handbell ensemble. They choose music that includes jazz, classic rock, musical theater and current pop music and are accompanied by a variety of other instruments and vocals. Their concerts are not to be missed!
